Weeran Angus in top gear!

We are not sitting on our hands at Weeran Angus!  Extensive ET and the introduction of some standout Herdbook Registered Females from Coolana, Witherswood, Wattletop and Anvil Angus Studs add genetic diversity and cutting edge genes to our future product.  At Weeran, we are all totally pumped about the progress of our program and cannot wait to showcase them.

Dispersal sales are a rare occurrence, and all four of these herds have spent decades developing their programs.  Weeran were thrilled to attend all four dispersal sales, and cherry pick the cattle with the most potential in our opinion.  A marvellous opportunity for us to fast track and develop our elite Stud Herdbook Program.  Many of these females have already been flushed and eggs transferred.  The others are not far behind, being flushed in the next couple of weeks to build a bank of embryo’s to be implanted next autumn.

The annual Autumn Bull Sale on Tuesday 26th February at 1pm will be offering the second year of star studded Millah Murrah bred embryo’s alongside a number of excellent embryo progeny we have flushed from our own elite females.  We are thrilled to be able to offer these industry leading genetics to both Stud and Commercial breeders.  We have an excellent run of sons by Ardcairnie F96, Wattletop Franklin G188, homebred sires Weeran Joel and Weeran Hooper, along with some of our first Millah Murrah Kingdom, Millah Murrah Docklands and Millah Murrah Klooney sons.

We are very excited with this year’s sale bulls displaying exceptional type, deep bodied, heavily muscled, structurally correct cattle with excellent temperament.  This year sees the introduction of Ardcairnie F96 and Franklin G188.  Weeran Hooper and Weeran Joel’s sons are performance specialists with some of the best calving ease, growth and carcase paperwork we have ever produced. F96, G188 and Joel are well performed graduates of the Angus Society Benchmarking Trial. Ardcairnie F96 no longer has semen available, so he will be in hot demand!  He is a bull with exceptional calving ease and birth to final growth curve.  Structurally sound with great levels of muscularity.  G188 has been described by Lock Rogers of Wattletop as the most complete all round bull from the 4th Cohort Benchmarking program. He is a trait leader for calving ease, growth, fertility and carcase traits.

80 bulls will be on offer, with a mix of 18 month and 2 year old bulls.   Our quest for moderate framed carcass cattle with exemplary temperament is well known.  Client success in the marketplace is great to see through weaner sales, feedlot demand and special sales.  Topping these sales show they are well rewarded for their efforts.

All bulls have been assessed by Dick Whale on the GTS Type/Structure system, and passed for soundness and type. The GTS system has been broken up into two distinctive trait groups; Descriptive Traits and Structural Soundness Traits.  Our top grading sons have been used in the Weeran program, and we feel sure they will enhance your program as well.  These sons are by Ascot Hallmark H147, Weeran Joel J13, Weeran Hooper H20, Wattletop Franklin G188 and TeMania 11465. All bulls come with our guarantee.  They are all semen quality tested, have received Pestivirus Vaccinations, along with Vibrio vaccinations, drenched and 7 in 1.

The 2018 Autumn Sale had many highlights, none more so than the $30,000 top price paid for Weeran Moe VHWM96, an Ascot Hallmark son, who was purchased by longstanding commercial client, Murroa East Pastoral Co. This year we have a number of excellent sons by Ascot Hallmark which display the same physical attributes and carcase softness and power of Moe.  They will attract plenty of attention.

We invite you to attend our Beef Week Field Day on Sunday 3rd February, 2019.  All sale bulls will be on display, along with a selection of females.
