We have a great team at Weeran working hard to keep improving our genetics for performance, calving ease and temperament. Studying the many form guides and sourcing new genetics each year to keep improving our final product is an exciting part of the Seedstock Industry. The enjoyment of watching homebred sires Weeran Joel and Weeran Hooper continuing to kick goals gives great satisfaction. Teaming Joel and Hooper’s genetics with the best we can find in the breed, is continuing to develop a very exciting herd at Weeran Angus! Tom French, Leah Drendel and Bryce McDonald work hard with us to keep developing our program and we feel very fortunate to have such a great team working alongside the Moore Family.
This forthcoming Spring Sale will be our 13th for the Spring season. We will be offering a small line of 18 month old bulls along with our larger offering of two year old bulls, presenting 55 bulls on Tuesday 10th September @ 1pm. All bulls can be viewed at our field day on Tuesday 3rd September at 10am.
We continue to introduce new sires into the program, with Alpine Justice J108, Boonaroo Gravity G13 and Musgrave Mediator all featuring for the first time in the run of 18 month old bulls. Wattletop Franklin G188, Barwidgee Jay W, Weeran Joel, Weeran Hooper and Ardcairnie F96 have produced a top line of two year old bulls. Following their success in our autumn sale, these bulls will present very well. G188 is a trait leader for calving ease, growth, fertility and carcass traits and the best sire to come out of the Wattletop program. The well proven Barwidgee Jay W will be highly sought after. F96 has the calving ease and birthweight numbers teamed with exceptional growth. Joel and Hooper are the full package for performance. Boonaroo Gravity has well rounded performance with calving ease, moderate growth and excellent carcass qualities. Alpine Justice has excellent growth and an impressive IMF ebv in the top 10% of the breed. Musgrave Mediator is a heavily muscled son of the renowned Musgrave Sire, Aviator. He is a very correct and thick pocket rocket! The combination of these genetics have produced an outstanding line up of sale bulls.
