Weeran . . . Industry leading genetics…..and that’s a fact!
The Spring sale run of bulls which Weeran are offering on Wednesday 10th September, will display the depth of breeding in the Weeran program and will impress. Weeran is continuing it’s quest for professionalism and consistency of their seedstock which will be on offer to their client base, said Weeran Principal, Alec Moore. We are continuing to raise the bar, once again increasing our numbers on offer without comprising quality. All bulls which will be offered graded 4 or higher with Dick Whale’s GTS grading system.
50 Bulls will be put through the sale ring. Bulls on offer are sired by Franklin 619, Ayrvale Bartel E7, Lawson’s Nadal E398, Barwidgee JayW 9616, Adrossan D19, Dunoon Everything E499, TeMania Africa A217, Silveiras Total M811, and B/R Future Direction 4268. Home bred sire lines include Weeran Fusion F3, Weeran Elvis E33, and Weeran Fair Dinkum F10.
The performance driven approach we have conducted in our herd, has the cream rising to the surface. Calves by Franklin, JayW, Bartel E7 and Nadal E398 have the WOW factor, both on paper and to the cattleman’s eye. It is very exciting times for Weeran Angus. The Nadal E398 cattle have been very impressive with exceptional capacity and thickness. We have retained a son Weeran Hopman H31, who displayed extreme muscularity as a weaner bull, and has softened in his muscle pattern in maturity, combined with excellent structure and growth and carcass numbers, makes him an exciting prospect. The Franklin cattle are combining well with high indexing cattle like Dinky Di. The trick to breeding high indexing cattle is not to lose vigour and type. Franklin does this very well.
Weeran have reintroduced embryo transplant technology into their breeding program, running two programs recently. The aim being to fast track our best cow families in our autumn calving herd and to increase the number of HBR females available to us. We have some very unique outcross females in this herd, and we believe there will be significant gain by maximizing these outcross females.
We extend an invitation to attend our field day on Friday 5th September, followed by our annual spring bull sale on Wednesday 10th September at 1pm.
We look forward to welcoming you to Weeran.
