Testimonials

Bill & Barbara Rishel. B/R Angus, Nebraska, USA

“It was a pleasure to visit with Steve Hynes and share a bit about our operation and breeding philosophy. By the way we had a wonderful visit and thoroughly enjoyed your great country.”

“We saw many very good Angus cattle in Australia and the cattle at Weeran Angus were no exception. I was particularly impressed with several mobs of those young pairs that you showed us. These females were the right kind for me. They were the frame size I like, very correct structurally, extremely good uddered and they were raising a very stout set of calves.

I have always said that the females will make the difference in any breeding program. If you keep the cow herd heading in the right direction everything else will fall into place and you will produce a top set of bulls for your clientele. I think you should be very pleased with the direction of your breeding program.”

“Alec, thanks again for being so generous with your time and giving us such a grand tour of Weeran Angus.”

Cheers

Luke & Karen Rees, Roo Park Pastoral, Telangatuk East

Roo Park sold 53 steers at the Hamilton Weaner Sales with tops
weighing 422kg @ $2.17 making $916. An excellent result!

We bought our first Weeran Bull in 1996. Our cattle were lacking depth and stretch and when we asked a calf buyer the best way to fix this, he said to buy your bulls from Weeran. The Weeran genetics has improved our cattle out of sight.

Alec & Jo have been fantastic and very helpful in achieving this and we look forward to continuing our assocation with Weeran Angus.

Ross Dumesny, Rosverland Farms

Rosverland Farms have been purchasing Weeran genetics for the last nine years.  When we purchased the property “Crowlands”, Colin Crow had used Weeran bulls and we were impressed with the quality of his herd.  We decided then to approach Alec Moore at Weeran and made our first purchases.  Since then, we have purchased a number of Weeran bulls and have found the cattle to be good bulls that produce good results. The bulls we have purchased as heifer calving bulls have performed very well with their calving ease being a feature.  Alec & Jo are honest and true to their word to deal with.   In the past I was a Hereford man, but those days are gone!  The results achieved by Weeran genetics are the reason why.
Rosverland Farms runs 520 breeders, 75% autumn/25% spring and most of their sale stock are sold through the winter store and fat market.

The photograph is of 17 month heifers with their first calves at foot. These are nearly all Weeran sired cows. I have 600 breeding cows here which are only a small part of the overall operation here in Tas.

Peter and Anna Delany, Murroa East Pastoral.

Anna & I have been buying some of the best Weeran Genetics for over ten years. Since we started purchasing Weeran bulls our female herd has gone from strength to strength. Our cows have more length and stretch with depth of body. Our females have good feminine characteristics that milk well and wonderful ‘doing ability’ to look after both calf and themselves.
Since buying Weeran Bulls our steer calves have become highly sort after because of their ability to finish on grass or in feedlots. With Weeran genetics I have very few ‘tail end ‘ cattle that don’t meet market specifications.
Weeran  genetics  have given me confidence to meet all market specifications which ever market I am aiming for. Weeran cattle finish faster and better than most other seed stock producers.

Nick and Yvonne Falkenberg-
Mepungah Pastoral Company

We have been purchasing Angus bulls from the Moore family at Weeran since 1996.
Our cattle herd currently consists of 460 Autumn and Spring calving cows with the steer portion of the herd grown out and sold anywhere from 480 - 650kg depending on seasonal and market conditions
The Weeran bulls we purchase are used twice a year and service up to 100 cows each over a 12 month period.
We have found Weeran bulls to be structurally sound and correct as well as being trait leaders in all commercially relevant areas
Weeran sires produce calves which are consistant, can do it tough and will stack weight on quickly in the right conditions. We always advertise any cattle we sell as "Weeran blood" and I believe the stock command a premium by doing so.
The Weeran after sales service is fanatastic and Alec and Jo are great people who are very passionate Angus cattle stud breeders and are leaders in their field.

Gordon Dickinson , Nareen Station

We have been purchasing Weeran bulls since 1998 . Apart from their genetic merit we have been impressed by their temperament and the after sales service by Alec and Jo . These bulls work twice a year and easily retain their health and vigour . .Grant Little, Manager and Gordon Dickinson, Principal, Nareen Station.
