56 Bull Sales for Weeran Angus!
We invite you to inspect our ripping line up of sale bulls being offered at our 56 th Bull
Sale on Tuesday 24 th February 2026 @ 1pm. Both two-year-old and eighteen month
old bulls will be offered at auction.
Having just attended a number of weaner sales in Colac, Hamilton, Casterton and
Mortlake, it was a real highlight to see the quality of the cattle and the weight in the
cattle. Our district, like most of Victoria, had a tough autumn and winter, and a good
spring, so it is a credit to the cattle and the management to have got them to sale
with so much weight and bloom. It was exciting to see the buyers on the rail with
animated bidding and enthusiasm from start to finish.
56 sales coming up for the Weeran Angus Team! An exciting time at Weeran! Lucy
and Peter Brooker were married on the farm in November, which was a very special
celebration with family and friends. We have an outstanding team with Leah, Pete,
Luc, Soph, Alec and Jo. We love having a young team with so much enthusiasm,
energy and passion for our bull breeding program.
Our herd and program has been significantly enhanced by using our leading yearling
bulls to mate our top yearling heifers. We have stopped ai’ing our yearling heifers,
as we feel we can get them in calf quicker, using the tops of the drop each year, and
an opportunity for them to shine in our program and sales. They deliver trouble free
calvings, and as you will see from our bull sale catalogue, the mating outcomes from
these multi sire heifer matings have been outstanding. 39 bulls in the catalogue are
from homebred sires belonging to 12 clients and some retained for use in the
Weeran program.
Reference Sires include Dunoon Recharge, Witherswood Bronc, Landfall Mainland
Q494, Myers Fair N Square, Sitz Stellar, Weeran Sisco S142, Weeran Significant
S331 and Dunoon Q317. There is plenty of power, calving ease, phenotype, docility
and carcase from these sires.
There are very strict parameters for the bulls to reach the sale. All bulls are
structurally assessed by Dick Whale of IBMS, and fertility tested by Nationwide A.B
which includes a crushside test for motility and morphology and visual assessment.
They are performance recorded with their EBV’s enhanced with Genomics, and all
bulls are Sire Verified.
Our herd focus is unwavering . . . with a focus on calving ease and carcase with as
much growth and maternal traits that we can make use of in our own environment.
Adding outstanding temperament, goes a long way for increased production and
work safety. This catalogue is packed with calving ease, with 57 heifer bulls.
A catalogue full of Sire Verified and Parent Verified bulls is something we are very
proud of. This means the bulls we are selling you are 100% guaranteed to be the
sire we say they are! To achieve this, extensive genomic testing is undertaken to
make our data accurate. Make sure you look for the verification symbols.
